Process & Permission Slips (Part II)

Hands on Workshop with IGDC

November 29, 2020, 12-1:30 pm

Online via Zoom

As part of Community in Focus, take a step behind the camera with Washington, DC-based photographers Birch Thomas (@birch) and Angela Pan (@abpanphoto). Listen to their stories from the front lines of documenting both everyday life and historic moments of 2020. Learn specific methods for using your camera as a tool to observe the changing world around you, create moments of presence, process emotion, and give yourself permission to try new things behind the lens.

In this two-part class, on November 22, they will first share their experiences and tips for capturing meaningful moments. Then, on November 29, in an optional part two, you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned by engaging in a follow-up conversation and sharing a photograph of life from your point of view.

This class is built for you to learn how to take better photographs with your camera but your cell phone camera will work!
