The Phillips’s impact spreads nationally and internationally through its programs, partnerships, and resources for educators, students, families, adults, and scholars.
University of Maryland Center for Art & Knowledge
The Center for Art and Knowledge serves as an interdisciplinary forum for scholarly discussion, research, and publication on modern and contemporary art.
Education & Community Engagement
The Phillips Collection’s Department of Education and Community Engagement strives to provide high-quality, engaging experiences that equitably serve the DC community and beyond.
To accomplish this goal, we:
- Design relevant programs accessible to diverse audiences
- Collaborate and strategize with community partners
- Provide, as Duncan Phillips said, “joy-giving, life-enhancing” experiences through art and wellness
We bring the arts to life through programs and resources that encourage curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
The Phillips has a lot more to offer beyond the walls of galleries. We have a satellite campus at THEARC and work with the local community to share in the creation and engagement with art.
Library & Archives
The Phillips Collection library and archives support research on works of art in the museum’s permanent collection, special exhibitions, and the history of the museum.
