The Phillips Plays
Artist Process: Jacob Lawrence
Bring your family to investigate materials, methods, and ideas in art.
Introducing a special series of The Phillips Plays that explores the creative process of artists in the collection. In July, learn how Jacob Lawrence applied color to his 60-panel Migration Series one color at a time, and create your own artwork using a similar process.
In addition to exploring art materials and methods in the studio, families may enjoy the carpeted, creative-play area with blocks, books, toys, and games.
