Hear from the Artist: Celine Krempp
Staff Show 2025
For over three decades, The Phillips Collection has honored the artistic talents of its staff through the annual James McLaughlin Memorial Staff Show. This beloved tradition showcases the creative work of museum employees across departments. As part of the exhibition, the “Hear from the Artist” series invites participating artists to lead 15-minute tours of their work, offering visitors personal insights and behind-the-scenes perspectives into their creative process.

About Celine Krempp
Celine Krempp is an autistic, asexual illustrator. Traditional art and digital art stood before her as two separate entities. An existential panic attack almost struck her until a solution came. Celine found flexibility in collage. One day, it was strictly physical. The next day, it was digital. Her materials have no limit. Her textures bring depth to two-dimensional art. She challenged herself with unfamiliar materials and tools.
Celine challenges herself with unfamiliar themes while enjoying the art she does. With her various series and individual pieces, she dissociates with the myths of restricted interests while unabidding to neurotypical norms. Her individual artworks dissect the many layers of her personality. The artist welcomes with open-arms positive affirmations and constructive critiques so she may evolve as an artist and an individual. Even if Celine must find non-creative paths to survival within a suffocating society, art is mandatory to her essence.
