Event Details

A 2009 Australian film by indigenous director Warwick Thornton, Samson & Delilah was filmed in a remote Aboriginal community near Alice Springs. Described as a “survival love story,” Samson and Delilah’s world is an isolated community in the Central Australian desert. When tragedy strikes they embark on a journey of survival. Lost, unwanted, and alone they discover that life isn’t always fair, but love never judges. The film won the Caméra d’Or at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated as Australia’s official entry in the 2009 Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film category.
