Event Details
Jörg Immendorff (1945–2007), one of Germany’s best-known contemporary artists, began creating revolutionary artwork in the 1960s, of which a central concern was the promotion of socially responsible collective working practice. In conjunction with a recent gift of postwar Germanic art from Michael Werner, Dr. Pamela Kort, professor of modern and contemporary art at the University of Zurich and author of several books about the artist, discusses Immendorff’s work and places it within the context of art and revolution in the 20th century.
