Event Details

The Phillips Collection is honored to host one of the world’s few remaining experts in the héliogravure process, the oldest photographic technique dating to 1826. Master intaglio printer Fanny Boucher of Atelier Helio’g, Paris, France will be at the Phillips to to conduct a unique hands-on workshop. Participants in the workshops will learn about the history and current vitality of the technique and have an opportunity to try their hand at the process and keep a one-of-a-kind héliogravure print. This is an exciting and extremely rare opportunity to work with Ms. Boucher.

These events are made possible by a Sister City grant from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The Phillips Collection, and STABLE.

Fannoy Boucher will also be part of a panel discussion on Thursday, July 18.
