The Phillips Plays
Reflective Poetry

Bring your family to investigate materials, methods, and ideas in art.
Come reflect on The Phillips Collection’s newest exhibition, Essex Hemphill: Take care of your blessings, featuring artworks inspired by the poetry of Essex Hemphill. After exploring the galleries with a Phillips Educator, families are invited to visit the art workshop to express their own ideas through poetry-inspired art-making. How might your poetry art portray your feelings and stories?
In addition to exploring art materials and methods in the studio, families may enjoy the carpeted, creative-play area with blocks, books, toys, and games.
