Integrating Art into Classroom Curricula with The Phillips Collection
Looking at visual art sparks imagination and creativity. Our time together will explore ways teachers can harness that spark and use it as a springboard into writing. After close looking at artwork from Breaking it Down: Conversations from the Vault (on view November 2, 2024, to January 19, 2025), educators will express personal voices, consider different points of view, and explore deeper meaning through a variety of writing prompts and activities. Participants will refer to published text (from song lyrics to poetry, dramatic dialogues to personal memoir) as examples of the power of the written word.
