Building Community
Exploring Self Portrait and Resistance

Join The Phillips Collection and “I Live to Create Inc.” in collaboration with DC native, master artist and educator Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu for a free, family workshop on Wednesday, April 20th, 5:30PM-7:30PM. The past two years have tested everyone’s strength, as we cope with a global pandemic, social injustice, and challenges specific to each of us. These experiences test our resilience and show how much we can embrace and endure. Come and express yourself through printmaking! We will create self-portraits that reflect our own individual resilience and strength within our communities. We will use photographs of ourselves as templates, and Mr. Osuchukwu will guide us through printmaking techniques as we discover how we can better understand ourselves through the act of making.
Dinner will be provided at the beginning of the workshop. Twelve spots are available on a first come first serve basis, please email edreyfuss@phillipscollection.org to RSVP.
Help us continue to serve our community by providing free virtual events.
