Collage Postcard Workshop: Spreading Hope in Challenging Times

Explore the art of collage by creating a unique postcard to mail to a healthcare worker or loved one. Many people are having a hard time with isolation and anxiety during this pandemic. This will be an opportunity to meditate on and spread messages of hope, love, and resilience. Leslie Holt of Red Dirt Studio leads this workshop which includes group brainstorming and guided postcard creation. It will also include a brief history of collage and examples of contemporary approaches to the medium, including works from the Philips’s collection which can serve as inspiration for your piece. 

Materials: Cardstock or other solid piece of paper to cut into postcard size, scissors, glue stick, magazines, old books, fabric, mail, stamps, wrapping paper, old photos…anything you can cut up and attach to a piece of paper.
