Creating Collections through Curiosity
People started collecting objects as a hobby as early as the 16th century. Cabinets of curiosity, or wunderkammer, displayed the objects from all over the world to inspire awe and wonder, just as museums do today. Sometimes they were more than just cabinets—they were whole rooms!
