Vamos a Phillips after 5! Come experience Mexican culture and jazz throughout the museum. Listen to Los Gallos Negros, a mariachi style band promoting Mexican and Latin American jazz culture, presented in partnership with the DC Jazz Festival and the Mexican Cultural Institute. Hear from Carla Fernandez, a Mexican fashion designer who creates work that preserves the rich textile heritage of Mexico’s indigenous communities, and see examples of her work. Find inspiration from Mexican designs and make your own Papel Picado, a decorative celebration craft!
