Event Details
Washington professionals by day, the all-volunteer Picnic Theatre Company brings their brand of cocktail party theater to the Phillips’s historic Music Room with a one-act performance of Casablanca. This play stages Lux Radio Theatre’s adaptation hosted by director Cecil B. DeMille and an all-star cast from Hollywood’s golden era. Phillips theatregoers are invited for a wine reception and performance at “Rick’s Cafe” in Casablanca, where shifting war time alliances, romance, danger, and redemption await. The Washington Post has called the troupe one of the “culture party hybrids taking Washington by storm” with short performances of classics.
