Phillips@THEARC provides free arts-infused experiences promoting wellness. Tapping into creativity in everyday life experiences, interactive programs are tailored to parents and caregivers, older adults, and K-12 teachers and students, and will roll out throughout the year.

NOW AVAILABLE! Create-While-You-Wait is a drop-in and de-stress service designed for caregivers and families visiting THEARC. Developed in collaboration with Children’s Medical, Create-While-You-Wait is a creative, easy-access art and wellness activity.

Creative Care for the Caregiver Programs
Creative Care for the Caregiver programs combine mindfulness, relaxation, and creativity exercises that caregivers can practice at home.

Join us for a FREE Creativity and Wellness Workshop—with dinner and childcare provided!

“Tap” into Your Creativity
Phillips@THEARC will offer occasional “Tap” into Your Creativity evening programs for caregivers to sip, create, and recreate.

Artful Wellness Kit
Stressed-out? Stop by Phillips@THEARC for an Artful Wellness Kit to help you relax and have fun. The kit includes low-stress art exercises, a few life essentials, easy tips for using your five senses (proven to reduce stress), and a surprise.

Kit includes: coloring postcards, colored pencils, pencil sharpener, tissues, nail file, mints, tips for using your five senses, and a surprise.

In collaboration with Double Nickels Theatre and Levine Music, CreativiTEA will be a regular program connecting  and celebrating senior residents East of the River. Older adults will engage in activities that spark community storytelling while weaving in personal creativity through music and art.

Free Field Trips to the Phillips
The Phillips will offer free field trips to the museum for Ward 7 and 8 DCPS schools.

Free Teacher Training
The Phillips will offer free teacher training on Prism.K12, the Phillips arts-integration methodology, to Ward 7 and 8 schools.  

Art Links to Learning
Art Links to Learning is the Phillips in-depth partnership program for DC Title-1 schools. Partnering school teachers and students work with the museum’s educators for three to five years on best-practice arts-integration. Learn more about Art Links to Learning

Currently, Art Links works with the Washington School for Girls at THEARC and Turner Elementary School (DCPS).
