Group Tours and Visits
Adult and university groups visiting The Phillips Collection can arrange for guided tours or for self-guided visits. We suggest that groups allow two hours for their trip to the Phillips to provide time to view additional works of art and visit the museum shop and café. The museum's group coordinator is also happy to suggest neighborhood restaurants that can accommodate larger groups.
The Phillips also offers school visits for student groups.
Guided Tours: Adult and University
The museum offers one-hour guided group tours of special exhibitions and the permanent collection. Tours are given by museum staff members trained in object-based learning, the visual arts, and art history.
Group sizes can range from 15 to a maximum of 50 people. Fees are $15 for adults and $13 for students or for visitors 62 or older. (Fees are subject to change depending on the exhibition.) Reservations must be made at least one month in advance.
Guided group tours may be scheduled on Tuesday through Friday, at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm, and on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. Please call to check on the availability of Saturday tours.
Self-Guided Visits: Adult and University
Arrangements may also be made for groups of 15 to 50 people to visit the museum without a guide. Regular admission fees apply, with a 15 percent discount for groups of 25 or more. Reservations for self-guided group visits must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Because most galleries are small, access may be limited. Groups with more than 25 people should disperse for individual viewing.
Members of self-guided groups may wish to listen on their cell phones to audio guides (when available) to special exhibitions. Group members are also welcome to attend the museum's 15-minute spotlight tours on weekdays at noon.
Self-guided group visits may be scheduled on Tuesday through Friday at 10:30 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm.
Reservations and Payment
All scheduled group tours and group visits must be reserved with a credit card. Final payment by check, credit card, or cash is due at least five business days before the tour, and the payment must be for the scheduled number of visitors.
