Weber periodically painted landscapes throughout his career. During the 1920s, in works such as High Noon, he concentrated on peaceful, fairly naturalistic renditions of the suburbs and farmland of Long Island and Connecticut. In 1916 he had married and in 1921 he and his wife had purchased a home on Long Island. His interests during this period became increasingly domestic and reflect Weber’s enjoyment of marriage. High Noon conveys the stability of this period in its quiet, restful mood, which seems to praise the benefits of country living.
