The Project

These artworks were created during a six-week Art Links curriculum focusing on Jacob Lawrence and The Migration Series. The program integrated visual arts, language arts, and social studies and addressed DC Standards of Learning. Each series is a narrative—a visual story—created collaboratively by one class. Students stepped into the role of artist-storyteller to experiment with expressive means of discussing community, social change, migration and immigration. Their stories resulted in this collaborative work of art.
