Gail Murdock has been a teacher with Capitol Hill Cluster School at the Peabody Campus since 1987. The arts have always been an important part of the early childhood curriculum. She has become involved in a more structured and focused attempt over the past several years to integrate the arts into the academic curriculum and has used visual arts, dance, and drama to teach science, math, language arts, and social studies. She has seen improved student achievement and engagement. Gail has a BS in elementary and early childhood education from the University of Maryland and a master's degree from the University of the District of Columbia. She has also been the teacher representative on the board of the DC Arts and Humanities Collaborative.
