Artful Evenings is the museum's Thursday night extended-hours program. Join us for a lively mix of gallery talks by guest lecturers and members of The Phillips Collection staff and other special programs. Examine depictions of the moving body and learn how artists including Edgar Degas and Jacob Lawrence carefully used line, color, and shape to capture the kinetic energy of human locomotion.

Explore one of the cornerstones of The Phillips Collection, Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series. The images depict the great 20th-century exodus of African Americans from the rural South to the urban North.
