About the Exhibition

This fall, The Phillips Collection collaborated with the University of Maryland to develop a three credit course to provide Prince George’s County Public School (PGCPS) teachers with the opportunity to integrate the visual arts, strategies, tools, and resources seamlessly into the core curriculum for K–12 students. This course offered rigorous professional development for the PGCPS educator community, which is nationally recognized for its commitment to arts integration and innovative programming. Prism.K12 is a methodology that provides teachers with arts-integration strategies to spark lesson ideas for the classroom and was developed by a national team of K–12 teachers and The Phillips Collection. Through in-person and online engagement, a blended learning model allowed for an authentic technology experience that expanded participating teachers’ digital skillsets and familiarity with web and social media platforms. This exhibition showcases student work from the participating teachers and represents the latest efforts in the Phillips’s longstanding dedication to arts integration.
