Pulitzer Prize-winning author Rae Armantrout reads from her work in response to special exhibition Man Ray—Human Equations. Just as Man Ray’s artworks distort mathematical models, Armantrout’s verse plays with how seemingly everyday language can “provoke a sort of vertigo effect as element after element begins to spin wildly toward more radical… possibilities.” Armantrout is the author of a dozen books of poetry, including Itself, Money Shot, Versed, Next Life, and Veil: New and Selected Poems. In 2009 she received the National Books Critics Circle Award. She is a professor and director of the New Writing Series at University of California, San Diego. In collaboration with Folger Shakespeare Library’s O.B. Hardison Poetry Series.
